Perhaps the new Captain America is actually Union Jack! I'm sure having a British person as the symbol of America could literally make the internet explode.
I kind of thought the shield was meant to be seen as an alternative to gunplay, but it's really just meant to block bullets so you can fire back.
If it's not used as his opening, I'm not really opposed to the gun. Or dagger, for that matter. I just hope it's not Marvel trying to go on some "these are dangerous times" political crap.

The old Captain America got through all of WWII plus 30 or 40 years of Hydra/AIM/RedSkull/etc with just the shield. But those weren't dangerous times, these are. Oh I hope that's not where this is headed.

I don't mind Union Jack with the gun, but Cap with a gun just seems wrong. It's like Batman with a gun.

Ross isn't ripping off Union Jack, cuz it's shiny. Shiny, see? Completely different.
And nothing like the Silver Agent
